Maintenance Costs
GSHP technology is low in maintenance as systems have very few moving parts and, being underground, are not exposed to the weather. Systems can have an operating life of over 40 years.
The maintenance costs of ground source heat pump systems are negligible compared to gas or oil heating and system reliability is high over the lifespan of the unit.
